“MCO” refers to the airport code for Orlando International Airport. This particular code was given by IATA or the International Air Transport Association. Before the Orlando airport became an international airport, its code was MCO in reference to its old name, “Orlando Jetport at McCoy.” The airport is also located just beside McCoy Air Force Base which made it famous for the term “McCoy airport” or “McCoy Orlando.” Even after Orlando airport expanded to become what it is today as the Orlando International Airport, authorities have decided to retain the old IATA code which is MCO.

It was in the early 1960s when the Orlando Jetport at McCoy started operations. It was established along with the cooperation of the U.S. military in forming the McCoy Air Force Base in the same area. The Orlando Jetport at McCoy operates as a civilian facility and became a model for future joint military and civilian airport operations in the U.S. Commercial flights started in this particular airport by late 1961, and by about ten years later, the Orlando airport had expanded to accommodate bigger airlines including Delta Airlines and Southern Airways among many others. By the year 1976, the Orlando jetport officially became an international airport with its new name “Orlando International Airport.” But as mentioned in the previous paragraph, the IATA code “MCO” was retained for this particular airport.

MCO, or the Orlando International Airport, continues to grow in terms of passenger traffic. In the late 1970s, about 5 million passengers were served in this particular airport. This figure soared to about 30 million passengers by the year 2000, which is just 30 years later. In terms of land area, MCO ranks as the third largest airport across the U.S. MCO also boasts of its control tower which is said to be the second tallest across the country.

The town of Gettysburg in Pennsylvania played a very important role in U.S. history. This particular town was the site of the famous battle during the American Civil War called “The Battle of Gettysburg.” This battle served as the defining moment for the Union soldiers as they defeated the Confederate troops in what was planned to be an invasion or takeover of the North. Because of this battle, the Confederate troops were forced to retreat back to Virginia. The Gettysburg Battle also became known for the most number of casualties in the American Civil War. This battle, which lasted for 3 days, cost the lives of about 50,000 soldiers from both the Union and Confederate armies.

The time was July 1-3 in 1863 when Gettysburg became the site of what was to be the end of the Confederate troops. Because they were defeated, it was touted as their last hurrah or last attempt to invade the northern part of the United States. If they were successful back then, they would have been able to force the Union States to negotiate and perhaps agree to some of their terms and demands. But the Union troops, led then by Major General George Gordon Meade, were able to foil the said invasion attempt of the Confederate troops headed by General Robert Lee. Fresh from his success in overcoming the State of Virginia, General Lee planned to go up north to take his cause to the Union leaders and politicians.

After the famous battle, then President Abraham Lincoln also gave his famous speech in the same town. His speech was a sort of memorial and dedication to all soldiers who fought and lost their lives during the battle of Gettysburg. This speech is famous as “The Gettysburg Address.” This speech was delivered just months after the famous battle that took place in this famous town.

Apollo is one of many famous Greek gods because of his power and good looks. Apollo is also the son of Zeus, who is known to be the most powerful Titan or god. Apollo’s mother is said to be Leto.

Greek mythology actually doesn’t describe Apollo as the god of the sun. There isn’t much correlation about Apollo with the sun in most writings about Greek gods and goddesses. It was said that it was actually a religious belief in Greece that associated Apollo with the sun. This belief continued on and eventually made Apollo as the god of light or of the sun. Back in those times, Zeus was associated with the sky and the universe, Hera claimed the air, which left the sun to Apollo.

In the Greek mythology, many thought of Helios as the obvious god of the sun because “helios” is the Greek translation for “sun.” But instead of an association with the sun, Helios became known to be associated with chariots and horses. Apollo, meanwhile, is connected to a lot of things other than the sun. He is considered a very handsome man with various great talents. Because of his mental abilities, Apollo also became known as the god of prophecy and intellectual pursuits. Many writings also depicted Apollo as good with music and even taught other people how to play musical instruments. Healing is another one of his great powers. Apollo is also considered a good archer. But besides having great powers on his own, Apollo also shared his healing powers to his son named Asclepius. It was said that Asclepius took advantage of his powers in the wrong way wherein he tried to raise people from the dead. This situation caused anger from Apollo’s father, Zeus, who later punished Apollo’s son for his actions. Because of this, Apollo had a great fight with his own father.

James Madison, Jr. is a very important political figure in U.S. history. Because of his many contributions as a statesman, Madison is considered to be the father of the U.S. Constitution. This informal title is given to him for a variety of reasons but mainly because of his contribution to the drafting of the actual U.S. Constitution, and by authoring the U.S. Bill of Rights. In terms of his political career, James Madison, Jr. reached the U.S. Presidency back in 1809 succeeding Thomas Jefferson.

Back in 1788, James Madison, Jr. was part of the group who wrote and produced the Federalist Papers. Along with John Jay and Alexander Hamilton, these papers were written to promote and ratify the U.S. Constitution. The Federalist Papers were said to contain 85 articles and 29 of which were written by James Madison, Jr. himself. These papers served as a form of advertisement for what would be the main law of the U.S., which is the Constitution. With his great contribution to these papers, Madison became known as the father of the Constitution.

But aside from Madison’s contribution to the Federalist Papers, Madison was also responsible for writing the famous Bill of Rights which specifically states the famous first 10 Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Indicated in these 10 Amendments were the specific freedoms and guarantees of every U.S. citizen. It also indicated some limitations on the U.S. government’s side in terms of its power over judicial matters and other concerns. Some power was also given to the states and the people as contained in the Bill of Rights.

With his great contribution as an author of several papers that led to the drafting of the U.S. Constitution and his creation of the first 10 Amendments to the U.S. Bill of Rights, James Madison, Jr. earned himself the title of “father of the Constitution.”

When people talk about economics, they usually refer to man’s behavior or attitude in terms of his activities that involve money. Economics is also considered to have a relation to the way people buy goods and consume them. And indeed, economics actually refers to people’s behavior in terms of purchasing, producing, and consuming several items. And for this reason alone, economics is considered a social science.

When talking about social science, people would think about people’s ways of dealing with the various things that happen around them. And this particular behavior can be applied to the study of economics because it deals with people’s decision-making powers on what and how they purchase certain items, and how these items will be distributed and consumed.

For some people, only the money aspect may come to their minds when speaking of economics. A particular country may be deemed to have a good economy if it is able to provide for the various needs of its citizens and is able to improve its infrastructure, the working and living conditions of its people. For the most part, this scenario is true. But the other side of it actually points to how people manage their own resources to drive the national economy. Like in the case of purchases and consumption, the people play a big part in a particular country’s economic cycle. During tough times, for example, most people may resort to hoarding basic goods such as food and water supplies and letting go of seemingly unnecessary items such as going to the park or the movies. Because of these specific behaviors, those in the basic food business will be affected in terms of the supply while those in the theater and movie business, meanwhile, may be affected in terms of low ticket sales. By this example alone, one can see that economics is largely a social science involving human behavior in terms of managing money and resources.

Hamlet refers to one of the most popular of Shakespeare’s works. It is a tragedy that is considered to have endless possibilities for being applied to present situations in life. Hamlet the play is a favorite in many schools across the world, and it tells the story of the main character, Prince Hamlet, who sought revenge for the death of his father. His father was the reigning king of Denmark but was killed by Claudius, who happens to be Prince Hamlet’s uncle. All throughout the play, Prince Hamlet’s character showed several signs of madness or mental disturbance making people think of him as an insane person.

The thought of Hamlet as being truly insane has been debated for a long time, and up to today many people have different takes on the situation. Some people justify Hamlet’s insanity or mood swings, as others would say, by pointing to the obvious plot of the whole play or story. For Hamlet’s character, he had to go through a difficult situation with his father murdered by his own uncle. Even in real life, a situation like this could make one insane, and so some people do not wonder why Hamlet is portrayed as having an unstable mind all throughout the play.

But some experts also suggest that Hamlet’s character actually portrayed himself as mad in some parts. It is said that Hamlet was trying to fake his mental state so he could eventually plan out his revenge for his father’s death. Though in some parts of the play, the same experts would agree that Hamlet could have really been insane because of his words and actions. Like in the portion where Hamlet was supposedly having bad dreams, or confessing to be melancholic, or being restless at some points, these instances are considered possible symptoms of insanity and madness. Because he supposedly showed many signs of mental disturbance in the play, many people simply think Hamlet had become insane.

There are some people that question the book of Leviticus and its inclusion in most Bibles, including Christian versions. This particular book was supposed to be some form of instruction to the Levites. Traditionally, it is the Jews that promote their teachings using details taken from the book of Leviticus. But as for the Christians, some would argue that this particular book may not be relevant to their faith. But when the experts are consulted on the subject, even if Leviticus focused so much on the duties of priests and of the laity, it also talks about God being a great and holy figure. With this argument alone, one can say that Leviticus is a relevant source of information even for Christians. For the experts, this is what made Leviticus part of Christian Bibles.

Leviticus was said to be written at around the time of Moses. Much of the book involved teachings related to sacrifices and bringing offerings as symbols of worshipping God. Included also are instructions for priests and stories relating to priesthood. The book also discusses several ideas on being unclean in terms of the food people eat, what they do, and how they speak. For many people around the world, these entries serve as a guide for their daily lives in terms of the choices they make. A significant part of Leviticus also tackles various means of being holy. Several examples are given on ways that people can follow to become good followers of God and to obtain holiness.

Most of the entries in the book of Leviticus may be directed towards the Levites, but the main ideas can be applied to any religion or sect. As for the experts on the subject, the stories presented in the book are considered relevant even to the Christian faith, thus making it part of the Bible.

Abe Lincoln also led the preservation of the U.S. by winning the American Civil War against the secessionist states called then as the Confederate States of America. It was also during his time that various laws were signed that eventually led to the abolition of slavery across the U.S. With the issuance of the “Emancipation Proclamation,” the rights of all people across America were slowly being honored and respected including those of the slaves. Eventually, Abe Lincoln’s actions led to the total abolition of slavery across the U.S. through the passage of the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

But aside from Abe Lincoln’s huge part in eradicating slavery in the U.S., he also became famous for his other good deeds. Known to have humble beginnings, many people looked up to Abe Lincoln as a good example of success which is earned through hard work and discipline. Back then, most of America was awed at Abe Lincoln for his good leadership and integrity. It was also said that Abe Lincoln’s style of governance involved conversations with other people. He became known as a great storyteller which earned him the nickname “Father Abraham.”

Abe Lincoln also became famous because of his words and speeches. He was always quoted when he spoke in public because of his wise and intelligent words. His assassination as President was a very sorrowful period in U.S. history and never forgotten.

“Xmas” refers to an abbreviated version of the word “Christmas.” Christmas is a huge celebration among the Christian world because it involves the birth of Jesus Christ. But since many people have encountered the term “Xmas” substituting for the more common “Christmas,” many people wonder how this all started.

If the record books are to be checked, the “X” in “Xmas” pertains to a Greek letter called “chi.” This particular letter is the first of the ancient Greek alphabet, and its translation is said to be “Christ.” The “mas” in “Xmas,” meanwhile, has more Latin origins, and it pertains to the English word “mass.” This is why some people in the past and even today use “Xmas” instead of “Christmas” to pertain to the supposed birthday celebration of Jesus Christ.

But aside from the record books, there have been disagreements among different groups of Christians regarding the use of “Xmas” instead of “Christmas.” For some people, “Xmas” was used to remove “Christmas” associated with Christian activities during this particular season. This is especially applicable to some industries and businesses who are only involved in the merrymaking and gift-giving part of the season. In order to entice non-Christians to celebrate along with everybody else, the word “Christ” was supposedly removed and changed to “X,” resulting in the term “Xmas.” Other people even consider it a blasphemy and a great sin to use “Xmas.” For Christians, Christmas is supposed to be the holiest of all celebrations, and replacing Christ with an “X” is supposedly not right.

Over the years, the debate among many Christians on whether to use “Xmas” instead of “Christmas” continues. For some people, what matters most is that the Christmas celebration is actually centered on thanksgiving to God and prayer for all blessings received rather than on partying, drinking, and spending too much on gifts.

The reason that married couples divorce is not a good thing in itself making the actual act of breaking up the marriage a bad and unwanted experience. This bad experience applies to both the husband and the wife involved in the divorce. And it is actually worse if there are children involved in the process as well. Overall, there is great emotional pain present when a particular marriage breaks up. Whether one is the guilty party or not, the fact that the supposed “happily ever afer” is breaking apart makes it difficult for both parties. It is said that innocent children, especially the younger ones, are the most hurt and affected in a divorce situation.

The cause of the divorce may be in the form of infidelity, money issues, alcohol or drug abuse, problems with in-laws and other relatives, violence, and immaturity among many others. But regardless of the cause, the breakup of the marriage will result in a difficult time for all the parties involved. The husband or wife who decides to break up the marriage may take a long time to emotionally heal, and this even gets worse when there are children caught in the middle of this very difficult situation.

Various research has shown that some children from divorced marriages end up having difficulties in school. Although some may fare better because of a more peaceful environment at home, there are children who are greatly affected by the separation of their parents. Aside from problems academically, some children also develop behavioral and mood changes which also affect their social and moral development. Symptoms of emotional and mental disturbance also vary between different children with some being withdrawn and silent while others having aggressive tendencies. All of these instances, of course, represent the negative side of a divorce which makes it a very bad and unwanted situation whether one is the husband, wife, or child. Each married couple needs to seek counseling for the sake of their family members and strive to resolve all of the issues to remain married for life.
