Wearing makeup is important for some people with most of them being women. Depending on what one does for a living, makeup is actually a basic necessity. Other people may argue that makeup is just a waste of time and money and will just cover the natural glow of the skin. But for those who work in show business, for example, makeup is considered an indispensable item.

For actors and actresses involved in doing plays, making movies and TV shows, for example, almost every single day of their lives involves putting on makeup. Some use makeup to remove the shine on their faces while other people use makeup to hide imperfections in their skin. Makeup is able to cover up blemishes like dark spots and acne which are considered unattractive to look at when one actor, for example, is performing on stage or shooting a scene. The use of makeup is also important for movies that involve a creative set design and costume. To complement the movie’s theme, actors and actresses wear specific makeup to achieve a certain look. Like in the case of movies that include actors supposedly playing famous persons of the past, makeup may be applied so that the actor playing the part will resemble that person he’s portraying. In the field of science fiction movies, makeup is also necessary to create complicated images of characters like aliens and dwarves.

In the real world, there is also a significant part of society that considers makeup very important. Much of society today values good looks, and so many people try to look good and better using makeup. In the corporate world, many women employees are required to use makeup as this is standard business practice. Some people also use makeup to feel better about themselves. With makeup on, some people feel more beautiful and confident which are important qualities to have in today’s modern world.

Many have sweaters, and they come in handy for a variety of reasons. As its name implies, sweaters are often used by those who want to sweat, like in the case of exercising. Sweaters are also often used to keep the body warm during the colder months. Some people also use sweaters as a fashion statement and make them become part of the popular and “in” crowd. Whatever the purpose for using the sweater is, more often than not people have experienced pilling on their favorite sweaters. Pilling on the sweater creates little lumps on the fabric making it look old and/or overused. These fabric lumps can be found in almost any kind of sweater but are said to be more frequent in sweaters made of acrylic, cashmere, and merino wool. Many people also argue that the less expensive the sweater is, the easier it is for it to pill.

Sweater pilling is actually caused by friction on the garment itself. This explains why pilling occurs in areas like the armpit section or the neckline area. These spots usually encounter high friction by the fabric and so more pilling occurs. And as we all know, fabrics used for sweaters are literally made of yarns that are sewn and intertwined. Once these parts encounter rubbing or friction, some fibers may get twisted and get attached to other fibers nearby so they form little lumps of fabric. When sweaters are used, then some areas will be constantly rubbing other areas in the sweater so some fibers will get twisted to form pills.

It is said that the amount of pilling on the sweater also depends on the fabric strength. The stronger the fabric is, the less likely it is for the fibers to get twisted from rubbing and friction. This also explains why cheap cashmere has the tendency to have more pilling compared to more expensive cashmere fabric.

Initially, when the English barristers started wearing wigs, it was only to maintain style. They followed uninterruptedly wearing the wigs as it was not stopped by anyone. Wigs are costly and the barristers were offered stipend to pay for their wigs. Sometimes there was necessity to buy their own wigs by the barristers and some lawyers used to buy the wigs that were already used by others. There is an opinion about the reason for the lawyers to follow the tradition of wearing the wig as they tried to keep up their dignity of law towards the accused people. There is also another opinion by the people that the lawyers might not be recognized by others outside the court, if they use wigs. It will act as an element of disguise that protects the lawyer from those who try to harm them outside the court.

In earlier days, a head cover of one kind was used by the lawyers. After that the tradition of using the ‘black flat bonnet cap’ was in use. Then the lawyers began using wigs in the year 1680. From that period the legal wig was seen as white or grey colored hair for about 150 years. Later in the year 1822, a wig that is meant only for the lawyers called as legal wig was invented by ‘Humphrey Ravens croft’. This wig was comprised of greyish white horse hair which was not having curling, powdered, perfumed and frizzing characteristics.

Till the capital punishment was stopped in the year 1969, the lawyers were wearing black caps when they were announcing death sentence. Then the wigs were started to be used for the purpose of fashion. The manufacturing of wigs was done by taking the hair from the people for money. There was a trading done with the hair of the dead. It was found that the lice that were present in the wigs were spreading to the original hair of the lawyers. To maintain the hygiene they used to shave their head beneath the wigs. Now, the tradition has continued and wearing wigs has become a part of the court dress.

The turban is the dressing of the head where it is tied around the inner hat on the head. The turban is originated in Asia and is made of a long scarf. The turban color might differ and it can exist in various shapes and sizes. The length of it can go beyond five meters. Some Indians belonging to Punjab and Rajasthan as well as Kannada people wear turbans. Sikhs continue wearing turban as part of their religious laws. Both men and women in the Sikh community are not allowed to cut their hair. The continuous growth of their hair is managed by the use of turbans. Most people in western countries who wear turban are Sikhs.

The turbans used by the Rajasthan people vary and the style of the turban alters when we travel for every 15 kilometers distance. In some regions of Rajasthan, the size of the turban will describe about the status and position of the person in the society. The usage of Turbans in different parts of India indicates the symbol of Royalty with various styles that are used. In another place called Mysore and in Kodagu of Karnataka state, the people present there wear Turbans called as Mysore Peta. It is the tradition of the people in that region that those invited as chief guests and other distinguished guests should be honored with Mysore Peta. This awarding ceremony will be celebrated as a formal party. In the district of Kodagu, people will wear Turban as a matching for their traditional dresses, which they wear occasionally, like in the marriages.

The people of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana states also have this tradition of wearing the Turbans. In the case of Sikhs, it is compulsory according to their religious laws while in the case of others they do it as part of their culture. Basically, it is the custom in India among many of the Hindus in North India and in some places of South India to wear Turbans. Men wear Turbans while the women will cover their head and back with their Sarees.

Why do watches have jewels

Nicolas Fatio de Duillier together with Jacob and Pierre (or Peter according to other sources) Debaufre were said to be the ones responsible for the development of using jewels on watches and received a patent in 1705. However, it was not until the 19th century that the knowledge in utilizing jewels as wheel bearings in watches became popular which is continuously practiced even at present times.

The first jewel used as watch bearings was made out of pure ruby. It comprises of a ring, also known as the hole”, together with a sink intended for oil. Since then, other gemstones were put into use that includes garnet (which was too soft) and quartz. High-end watches uses sapphire, diamonds in addition to rubies. During 20th century, the development of synthetic gems was invented which made the value of jewels a lot cheaper. And in modern watches, the use of synthetic jewels (made out of corundum) became widely accepted.

Jewels were primarily used in watches to reduce the friction created by its gears. It is because of the durability, glossy exterior, and lower frictional coefficient” that made the jewels more functional as a wheel bearing compared to metals. When the friction in the watch’s gears is reduced, the reliability of the watch in telling time becomes more accurate.

Jewels are also known to extend the life of the bearings inside the watch, thus also affecting the overall stability of the watch. Watches without jeweled bearings tend to wear out quickly and becomes inaccurate in giving time, or eventually stop running. With this, jewels are put on watches to help prolong its life.

Currently, many people believed that the number of jewels put into watches define its value; the more jewels a watch has, the more accurate and durable the watch is. Because of this popular assumption, watch manufacturers took advantage of the knowledge and eventually use non-functional jewels just to raise the watch’s market value.

Why do jeans shrink?

Jeans are typically trousers or clothing that is made from denim. Coming from the French phrase bleu de Gênes, which means blue of Genoa, the word jeans emerged. The jean fabric originally came from the French town of Nîmes, from which ‘denim’ or de Nîmes gets its name and From Dongari Killa in India, from which the word ‘dungarees’ came. It was in 1873 that the earliest American jeans were made by the names of Jacob Davis, Calvin Rogers and Levi Strauss. Although the use of jeans was purposely for working people, the teenagers have learned to use it as well. Today, jeans come in various fits, styles and cuts. There are skinny, tapered, straight, boot cut, Mommy-cut, maternity, and flare, which has now become a popular form of exuding the state of being casual in the world of fashion and clothing.

As the garment evolved through the changing times, the wearing of jeans is one fact that will never be outdated. As a matter of fact, people from all walks of life and in various age groups opt to wear jeans because of the comfort it brings. But there remains to be one problem that concerns the use of jeans. Many have already attested that their jeans have shrunk. It was discovered that molecular structures are the one responsible for this. The shrinkage of jeans is considered a bonding process. The cotton fibers of your jeans are made of lots of small molecules, linked together to form huge chains of molecules called polymers. Weak links called hydrogen bonds connect the polymer chains end-to-end. When the bonds break, the polymers crinkle up and therefore results into shrinkage.

However, today, many manufacturers have added chemicals called shrink-resistant or durable press finishes to prevent jean shrinkage from happening.

Why do shoes squeak?

Shoes are commonly worn type of footwear that is more opted, especially when various activities are involved. The first known kind of shoes is the sandals, which was discovered in 1938 in the state of Oregon and was found to be from eight thousand to seven thousand BC. The oldest leather shoes were found to come from 3500 BC, after it was just discovered in a cave in Amenia in 2008. From a simple foot bag, the evolution of shoes greatly occurred. Over the years various types, models and designs have been innovated and created, basically to meet the increasing demands of shoes. Today, rubber, plastics, synthetic cloth, and other industrial adhesive materials are being utilized that deviates from the traditional crafting techniques of making shoes. The basic classification of shoes depends greatly on one’s gender. There are shoes made specifically for men as well as there are shoes made only for women. More so, shoes come in various because of various purposes. Some are for formal occasions, others for outdoor activities while some other types of shoes are worn on a daily basis.

Shoe have various parts and can even have accessories attached to it. Among the several shoe parts, most people are highly concerned with the soles of shoes. The most common concern regarding the sole of shoes is its production of a squeaky sound. Although there are a number of reasons for those squeaky shoes, one ultimate culprit is the rubber material being used as the main component of its sole. Another reason why there are shoes that squeak is because of the fact that the shoes could be wet. Water within the sole becomes compressed as pressured is put on the sole, squeezing the water out, thus the squeaky sound is produced.

Hollister is one brand of American lifestyle that was primarily created by the Abercrombie and Fitch Company. As advertised as HCo., Hollister was created to attract consumers from the young age of 14 to 18. Ranked as the second best clothing brand, Hollister is focusing on casual wear and Southern California image, evidently basing on its styles and approach to the consumers. The styles of such brand were highly emanated from the brand image, John M. Hollister, who lived a care free life despite the high-life that was established for him by his father. This sports man engaged in the waters, the company was first selling surf apparels and equipments. It was later changed and became what it is today. But regardless of the changes, the company remains to live by the story of passion, youth and love of the sea, carrying the harmony of romance, beauty, and adventure.

As the Company went through the tides of change and several inconsistencies of the world, it has endured and is now one of the most top selling brands in the world. Aside from the look, inspired at sea, Hollister provides it consumers the satisfaction that contains within the context of budget, style and exuberance. Men and women are brought to greater heights as various styles and fashion statement can be exuded. More so, the fragrance that Hollster has was claimed to be incomparable. This has been the reason why Hollister clothes smell good. Almost every year, the Company tries pt produce a unique scent that attracts both men and women. The kinds of fragrances that Hollister offers make its clothes smell good and even the stores themselves.

Undeniably, the emergence of Hollister has made a great impact on the fashion world, especially among the youngsters.

In any show, when any one wears black and come on to the stage to alter or change the props, it means that they desire to be not noticed by others. People here wear black so that they are not noticed or observed by others and not to pose themselves as unique. Black color dresses makes obese people slimmer or even the thin people to look still slimmer. When the client or the customer is looking into the mirror to observe the changes made in his or her hair, the background color should appear neutral. The color of the hairdressers at the back should not disturb the customer’s focus on their hair beauty. As black dress would be ideal for this purpose, hairdressers wear black.
Black color dress of a hairdresser is also a formal way of getting dressed. Most of the hairdressers wear black and some also try with white dresses for black haired customers. It is common that black T-shirts and black jeans or chinos or black trousers are preferred by them for professional wear. They wear an apron on this black dress to look still more professional. Keeping the background black by the hairdressers makes them easy to identify the color tone and shape of the hair and do the work properly. The black dress would not come of help only when they come across the customers who have black hair. This problem is normally solved by the hairdressers by just standing away from the client in an angle and work on the hair.
