Almonds are known to consist of antioxidants too. Too much eating of almonds will add heavy fat content to our body. The necessary quantity of daily intake of almonds is one ounce which will be equal to 28 grams of them or 23 whole sized almonds. One ounce of these seeds consists of 14 grams of fats, 6 grams of proteins and 6 grams of carbohydrates with total calories of 163. It is a rich source of dietary fats.
Almonds are found to be enhancing the brain function, improve the skin color, provide high energy levels to the body, and increase the growth of hair. Eating almonds will help reducing the risk for heart diseases. The presence of calcium in almonds was found to decrease risk for colon and rectal cancers. Researchers also believe that almonds are involved in reducing risk for lung cancer.
