Rabbits are comically known as bunnies. As little members of the wild, bunnies nowadays can be widely found in any parts of the world. Pikas and hares are just two of the many species of rabbits that abundantly exist, considering that there are eight identified genera of such kind of animal. Rabbits or bunnies typically possess large large, powerful hind legs, in conjunction of using only their toes when moving. They are famously known for their long ears, which are believed to function in detecting predators at a certain specific distance. As natural habitats of the meadows, woods, forests, grasslands, deserts and wetlands, especially in the countries of North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, Sumatra, some islands of Japan, and in parts of Africa and South America, bunnies are more often treated as house pets. Their sweet, cunning behavior makes it a perfect companion to many owners. However, others treat bunnies as food and as clothing, especially in cases of survival. Despite several environmental problems that bunnies contribute, their cute and curious nature always brings people to their attention.

Just like any other living creature, bunnies communicate with one another and with other living beings as well. It is but normal for bunnies to lick their owners. This is one of their ways of showing affection, as this also implies that they like the person they are licking. More so, bunnies lick because they are reciprocating the care their owners give them by licking them. Licking is the bunnies’ way of giving its owners a groom, just like how their owners groom them. Aside from that, bunnies lick humans because they like the taste of salt that is secreted from the skin. This is also their way of tasting and testing whether one can be chewed.
