Mockingbirds are one species of flying animals that typically reside in the woods or on the forests. As part of the mimidae family in the animal kingdom, mockingbirds are known to mimic other kinds of birds in terms of the songs being sung and the sounds being produced. It often occurs in a loud volume and comes in as rapidly as it gets. There are a number of species that mockingbirds have. There are Brown-backed mockingbird, Bahama mockingbird, Chilean mockingbird, Socorro mockingbird, Northern mockingbirds and many others. in the tails accounted in history, the existence of mockingbirds became one significant factor in the discovery of the concept of evolution. It was in the person of Charles Darwin, who discovered that the mockingbirds differed from island to island of the Galapagos Islands, and were closely allied in appearance to mockingbirds on the South American mainland. He was then convinced that there exists a transmutation among species and the concept of evolution is one concept of truth.

What remains to be an interesting feature among mockingbirds is their ability to mimic other birds of their songs as well as impersonate sounds produced by various animals of nature. It has also been observed that mockingbirds only sing at night. Mockingbirds do not only sing at night. There are species of mockingbirds which also sing during day time. the type of mockingbirds that most frequently sing at night are those who have no mates. Bachelors and bachelorettes as they are, mockingbirds sing at night to attract other mockingbirds, who they can mate with. As a form of communication, mockingbirds use the singing technique to win a mate. Once the mockingbird finds a mate, it stops singing.
