Why do Scientists use the Metric System?

Scientists use metric system to make measurements and observations as it is one of the systems used to evaluate. The metric system is also considered as easier than the American system. In metric system every measurement is based on the ten and the big measurement involves deriving from this ten. The unit for force in America is pound and that of mass is called slug. In metric system, the mass is measured in kilograms. For measuring length Americans use foot. The foot has one unit down to it as 1/12 of foot being inch. One step down this is ¼ inch and then 1/8 of inch. In the case of metric system, meter is used to measure length. The next step in units when you go down is decimeter. Decimeter is 1/10 of a meter. Then one step down is another unit called as centimeter which is 1/10 of a decimeter. Hence, metric system can be dealt with relativity using 10s or 100s. This method allows to easily use numbers as variables of 10 and not any other number which could have been complicated.

Metric system is used by many people in the world. The people who do not use this system are from United States. When scientists all over the world do many experiments in various ways, they might have used different units to measure certain things. It would be great to have a communication system regarding the units of something as a single one used all over the world by all scientists. Metric system can be used by several people all over the world as a single means of measuring the quantities. This will make them to compare their works easily. It is easier and convenient to have the same system in all countries. This system is used to measure weight, distance, and volume. The units utilized here are grams for weight, meter for length and seconds and minutes for time. As metric system is easy to be followed by all countries, it is used by the scientists.
