Each cell in the human body requires Zinc to reproduce for proper functioning. It is necessary for human health particularly in view of the fact that it plays an important role for immune functioning. Zinc also helps in wound healing. We need zinc so that our senses can function normally like taste our food, smell aw well as vision.
Each one of us needs zinc. Kids need zinc to grow, adults need zinc for health. Zinc in men is extremely important because of their sexual health. We get zinc mainly from our food. The major sources of zinc are red meat, poultry, fish and seafood, whole cereals and dairy products. Zinc is most available to the body from meat. The best way to provide your body with zinc is a balanced diet.
Although Zinc plays an important role in our body taking too much can also have bad results and side effects. Some common side effects of zinc are stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, and diarrhea. Very serious allergic reaction to Zinc is rare. High doses of zinc can make your good cholesterol low and can make your bad cholesterol higher, it can also impair other nutrients especially copper, calcium and iron, and it can also make your immune function well.
Before taking Zinc you should be able to tell your doctor if you are allergic to copper, folic acid, or zinc because this medication/vitamins should not be used if you have this medical problem.
In taking these medication/vitamins you should take it once or twice a day, with or without food. You should take this regularly. Zinc supplements can interfere with copper so it is recommended that you take it together with a balanced diet to guarantee that all the other vitamins and minerals in the body will work together.
