Why is Chuck Norris famous?
Carlos Ray ChuckÃ¢â‚¬ Norris was born in 1940 on 10th March. He is an American Martial Artist and actor. He was in United States Air Force for some time. Later, he left the Air Force and started becoming popular in Martial Arts. He founded a school of his own in Martial Arts called as Chun Kuk Do. He appears to be a tough guy. An internet gala has started from 2005 which is called as Chuck Norris Facts that formed as a source for some excellent feats of Norris. Norris featured in various action films like Way of the DragonÃ¢â‚¬ where he acted along with Bruce Lee. Norris was also a famous star in The Cannon GroupÃ¢â‚¬ in 1980. His next participation was in a television series Walker, Texas RangerÃ¢â‚¬ which was telecasted from 1993 to 2001.
It is special to say about Norris that he is very religious Christian. He has authored many books related to Christianity and has given them to Republican causes. He delivered speeches on behalf of former Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee in 2007 and 2008. Mike contested from the republican side for President in the year 2008. Norris lost in Karate matches in his first two tournaments at the International Karate championship. In 1968 and on 24th of November, Norris won the professional middleweight karate championship title. He could hold this title for about 6 years. He could manage to win Triple Crown of Karate in the year 1969 by winning many tournaments in this year. Norris also won The fighter of the YearÃ¢â‚¬ award in 1969 given by Black Belt Magazine. In the same successful year of 1969, he did his debut film The Wrecking CrewÃ¢â‚¬ by Dean Martin. Later, he acted in many films and in one of them he worked along with Academy award winner Louis Gossett Jr. Norris created history when he was found as a part of the documented history of Tae Kwon Do as he was the first westerner to be portrayed as such. He was given a rank of eighth degree Black Belt Grand Master. In 2000, he was awarded with Golden Lifetime achievement award by World Karate Union Hall of fame.
