Why is CPU important?
CPU or central processing unit is considered to be the brain of the computer which means every information is processed in CPU. The computer can carry instructions and do its functions if the CPU is working well.
Before, CPU is as big as a room but now its size have changed tremendously. But despite its smaller size, its functions are rapidly increasing. The CPU performs as a processor where calculations happen. It is an internal component of any computer may it be desktop, laptop, or notebook. CPU has two components, the arithmetic logic unit that does all logical and arithmetic processes and the control unit that gets all the instructions from the memory. The CPU serves as the reader of information being encoded and it decodes or interprets all information in the memory in sequence. The more valid the program is, the better results will CPU give.
The procedure on encoding and decoding is done speedily that within seconds you can actually solve mathematical problems, search for files, or create a publication. Sometimes, the processing becomes slow. This is caused by low memory capacity of the computer. Even if the processing is done instantly but if the memory lacks enough space, the CPU could not yield better results. It’s also important to put a backup memory so that the CPU can function more operations.
CPU can also read information from external ports such as USB or extra hard disk. Having output ports allow CPU to do more important tasks. Take for example printing of the output. If command of printing is chosen, the CPU would then communicate the processing to the printer. The printer would then print the output.
CPU is the unifying system of the computer. All functions can be controlled by CPU. Just like humans, if the brain malfunctions then they may die. With computer, if the CPU is damaged then the computer will never function. That is how important central processing unit is.
