Why Is DNA Cloning Considered An Important Technology?

Since the beginning of DNA cloning, a number of benefits can be identified which are tied to the technology. These are widespread from the health sector to production and industry.

In the health sectors, DNA cloning has been advanced to larger extents, which have led to better understanding of diseases and certain deformities in human beings. The technology uses a sophisticated way of analysing gene structures and proteins; and their behaviour during development.

DNA cloning technology has also helped in the manufacture of reagents used in medicine as drugs. Moreover, DNA stems are vital tools in the transplant field though they form part of therapeutic cloning which is highly deputed.

In the production field, the technology is applied in ethanol production, where certain bacteria are developed and used to turn paper into ethanol. However, this is not widespread.

With the onset of DNA cloning, we have been able to see crops being resistant to insects as well as certain crop diseases. This has highly helped farmers against damages caused by these diseases and harmful insects. The level of yield in the same agricultural field has notably increased because of the DNA cloning technology. The technology has led to engineering of crop species which thrive in most regions, as well the dairy or generally livestock production which has been able to give increased outputs for the large and growing population. This has helped solve to some extent, the problem of starvation and food shortages.

Given that we can actually see people harvest the fruits of DNA cloning by consuming genetically modified foods, there’s need for DNA transplant stems in hospitals and hence, there is no need to discredit DNA cloning technology. It’s actually on the verge of changing and being incorporated in almost all the fields that support human nature as economic fields of production.
