Why is NVIDIA better than ATI?

NVIDIA was started in 1993. It manufactures integrated chips for graphics processing units, game consoles, workstations, and motherboards. NVIDIA is considered as a leader in graphics processing unit market. This was evident in the case of sales conducted for Geforce 8800 series. This product has overcome completely the ATI market in graphics processing unit. ATI is part of AMD (Advanced Micro Devices Company). AMD Company was established in 1969. Though there is a lot of gap in the establishment of these two Companies, NVIDIA could compete with ATI due to its extensive research and higher degree of product development.

It cannot be said affirmatively that NVIDIA is better than ATI or vice versa. It is generally felt by the public that ATI has lower prices on its products. In the case of GTX 200 series, GTX 280 and 260 were very costly initially when they were released by ATI. Later NVIDIA has reduced their prices by 30 to 35 percent. According to the studies conducted on the high-end graphics card performance along with their prices, ATI Radeon X800 XL was well reviewed by the customers and has got higher rating than NVIDIA’s GeForce 6800 GT and Geforce 6800 Ultra. ATI’s Radeon X850 XT PE was found to have worst performance of all the four devices mentioned. So, it depends on the product number and uniqueness of the released product which should be tested for quality and not all the products of a Company. Coming to middle range cards, NVIDIA Geforce 6600 GT was found to have better rating from the customer’s side compared to ATI Radeon X700 XT. The low budget ratings of some of the devices were rated as per their performance in descending order from ATI Radeon X300 SE, NVDIA Geforce 6200, and ATI Radeon X300 till NVDIA Geforce 6200 Turbo Cache. So, one cannot say that NVDIA is always better than ATI, but some of the products are comparatively better than ATI products.
