Why is Rob Lowe Leaving Brothers and Sisters?
Rob Lowe is an American actor who has been around for quite a while now. He stepped into the spotlight after appearing in films like The Outsiders and St. Elmo’s fire. His appearances on TV gave his career a boost. His is famous for his roles as Sam Seaborn on the West Wing and as Senator Robert McCallister, the love interest of Calista Flockhart in Brothers and Sisters.
He started as a guest star during the first season of Brothers and Sisters. Since he was received quite well by the audience, ABC decided to give him a few more episodes during the second season. His appearances on the show during this time gave the show a huge boost in ratings.
The successes of the show’s second season lead him to sign in the third and fourth season of the show. However the fourth season would be his last time on the show. His departure in the drama series was first reported by Deadline Hollywood. It was said that ABC is talking to Lowe with the possibility of having his own show.
However, it was said that the real reason for Lowe leaving the show behind is because he felt that his roles and appearances did not give him much credit as an actor. His lack of screen time and exposure in the show lead him to feel that way. He felt that he was being underutilized that is why he asked to be removed from the roster of characters.
This might be a sad ending to those who have come to love Senator Robert McCallister but there is still hope for this. He will be seen in other shows though in a different channel. He will be a regular on the show Parks and Recreation, produced by NBC playing the role of a state auditor. So we will still be seeing much of Mr. Lowe still.
