Why ‘Flash forward, was cancelled?
The high budget ABC science fiction and thriller ‘Flash forward’ was cancelled. This show starred John Cho who played a famous television role as Asian-American actor. Cho played the role of Demetri Noh who was part of a team on investigation. The team was keen in probing the reason for the people on earth to black out and see visions of the future. The show ‘Flash forward’ began with a stunning start and continued for some period. Though the show had few boring and lifeless episodes, it could pick up gradually as many people were watching it. After sometime it was reported that the show did not have many viewers. The show was given a break for three months from 2009, Dec. till 2010, March to gain the swing. But, this three month hiatus could not increase its viewer number. So, ABC has decided to cancel the show.
Flash forward was popular for having Noh in a peculiar role liked by most of the viewers. Noh and GabrilleUnion were portrayed in the characters that gave importance to Asian-black interracial relationship. The rating for this show has become too low in the second half of the first season. The survey done on the viewers for 6th May episode showed that only 1.75 million viewers were present. These ratings stood in the third place after Survivor 20 and Bones. Flash forward was placed at the last position among the networks in the 18-49 demographic which was monitored by the advertisers very much.
There were certain reasons for the show to get cancelled like including lot of havoc, disturbance and chaos on the planet and bringing everything to normal. The show did not have the story that is unique. The show involved shooting of many things where the perspective of one aspect will get quickly transformed into something else very soon. The concept of free-will in a science fiction was uninteresting. The character of Mark Benford was portrayed initially as belligerent and after a long time was depicted as a tolerable character. All these were not received by the viewers and hence the ratings fell down for this show. Eventually, the show got canceled.
