Fungi and antibiotics are both a kind of bacteria. So the reason behind fungi producing antibiotic is to compete and overpower the bacteria that is present in the dead matter with them. If a fungus wants to be dominant in a dead matter that they are into, the tendency is that they will find a great way to kill its neighbor bacteria so they can rule.

Fungi come with huge significance. It is one of the vital groups of organisms in the earth. Once the fungi create bacteria, it became responsible for recycling that returns the dead material to the soil in a way that it can be reused. Without the presence of fungi as well as the bacteria and the antibiotic that are produced, this success in recycling could not be possible.

Fungi with another bacteria as well as antibiotics are also important for the growth of plants. As we all know, plants provide a great responsibility and advantages in nature. It only means that other reasons for this combination of bacteria is still unknown and no one can ever answer various question about this fact except of course for the fact that this bacteria combination can be advantageous to living things.
