Dubai is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates that has obviously gained popularity all over the world. Regarded as the emirate having the largest population, Dubai is strategically located on the Arabian Peninsula, specifically south of the Persian Gulf. Even before Dubai was called such name, it was first referred by the British historians as Al Wasl. After its name was changed to Dubai after 1820, various myths and legends have gradually evolved, with regards to how Dubai came about. Browsing through Dubai’s history, it reveals that there are limited sets of information that has been accounted for United Arab Emirates. And as time passed by, interesting discoveries and innovations have been established in the Dubai. After the emergence of the Gulf War, which heavily affected the general status of Dubai, such emirate learned to rise and become one of the richest traveling locations that exist today.

It is an undeniable fact that Dubai claims to be one of the richest places among many other countries and nations that exist. As a famous pearling capital in 1580, the emirate started to expand and go beyond what seemed to be limited of opportunities and linkages. The great heights that Dubai is currently experiencing at this time can be highly attributed to its foundations of trade, finance and real estate. Being rated as the 44th among the world’s best financial cities in 2007, Dubai was able to significantly overcome the global economic crises that taking a heavy toll on the city. Tourism also contributes to the reason why Dubai is so rich. Dubai’s lure for tourists is based mainly on shopping, but also on its possession of other ancient and modern attractions, which paved the way for cash flows to keep on coming.
