Why is Lala Shutting down?
There was quite an uproar a few months ago when the multimillion dollar company, Apple, decided to cut itself loose from the online music streaming service, Lala. Not a lot was being explained in the media as to why this decision was made, but a lot of speculation was created leaving its customers scratching their heads and looking for another music outlet to turn to.
I, myself, was not a member of this online music community, but I did find it interesting that Apple had not really addressed the true reasons behind their swift departure from Lala after only signing on with the company five months prior. From the information that I have gained through extensive research, I still have not been able to come to an ultimate and solid solution as to why this may have occurred.
The only thing that I do know for sure is that Apple has stated that the formula in which Lala had been operating under was not working and the business was bound to fail sooner rather than later. It sounds to me that they were just kind of looking for a way out of the business deal that they had made with Lala, but with as much money and powerful lawyers I am sure they have on hand, they probably do not have to worry about any legal action even of Lala wanted to pursue some.
This all sounds like an unfortunate turn of events for, not only both companies involved, but also for the loyal customers of the music streaming website. This is not the first time that something like this has happened and I am most definitely sure that it will not bet he last time, either. Whenever there is a huge merger like this, people tend to get their toes stepped on. Eventually, if not given the proper care, all things must come to an end.
